Christmas Party Season is upon us yet again! With many employers busy planning ‘When, Where and Who’ there are other important factors to consider that are often forgotten, such as acceptable employee behaviour and the potential pitfalls of mixing business with pleasure.

Work nights out are technically corporate events and are therefore bound by the same policies and procedures as a day in the office. It is important to remember that even in a relaxed and informal setting where alcohol is available, it is still not acceptable to bully, harass or abuse colleagues.

As an employer you have a duty of care to all your employees to ensure that they are aware of the consequences of unacceptable behaviour at a Christmas Party. Failure to act now could result in you being indirectly liable for harm caused to other employees or third parties by the careless acts of your staff.

We don’t want to sound all ‘bah humbug’, but we do think it is important that you inform your employees what is expected. We are pleased to say that most Christmas celebrations pass without t any problems but should issues arise its better to be prepared.

We have a Company Event Policy available which details what is expected of your employees. By issuing this to all staff before your party you can potentially reduce the risk of any unacceptable behaviour. Issue it along side a Bullying and Harassment Policy for even more peace of mind.

Click here to view and buy this policy today!! Only 9.95!!
