Recruitment Agencies'

According to a report, Race and Recruitment: Exposing the Barriers, race discrimination is prevalent among recruitment agencies during the hiring process.  The report was published by the charity Race for Opportunity, part of Business in the Community, and found that only 29% of black and ethnic minority candidates were offered a job through recruitment agencies, compared with 44% of white applicants.  57% of ethnic minority applicants were invited to interviews through a recruitment agency, compared to 73% of white candidates.  However, when they applied directly to employers, outcomes were equal with 29% of both white and ethnic minority candidates securing jobs.
